Performance Options for your Phoenix Paratrooper:
We will install any of our Phoenix II systems on the Montague Paratrooper frame. Choose your system, battery chemistry, and battery mounting arrangement below.
"Cadillac" of e-bikes: The Montague Paratrooper frames are smooth and comfortable, Phoenix systems are extremely powerful, and the lithium batteries are amazingly small and light-weight! You no longer have to choose between power and weight, you now get both! We encourage customers to do their research. Compare quality, power, weight, and price of our Phoenix Paratrooper with lithium battery to any e-bike on the market. We are confident you will return to Electric Rider for the Phoenix Paratrooper!
| Different situations call for
different "tools", and while you can probably hammer a nail
with a staple gun, a hammer will be much more effective. Below you will
see pictures with corresponding systems they go with. Many of the
systems look the same on the outside, but are very different on the
inside. By comparing the specs of each system below, the differences
will become obvious. Please call or email us with any questions at
325-227-6903 or sales@electricrider.com.
We would like for every potential customer to call in order to
discuss your needs and confirm we're selling you the right Phoenix
Paratrooper. An educated purchase will pay
off for many years. It is important that you choose the
"right tool for the job", and our experienced representatives
can help with that. We encourage you to do some homework. Research other systems on the market and compare them to the Phoenix Paratrooper. You'll want to compare: Watts (Power), Battery Chemistry & Capacity, and of course Price. Quality is hard to judge visually, but reviews and youtube videos are a great place to find customer feedback. Some manufacturers in the e-bike industry post specs based on "wishful thinking", so we recommend using customer feedback to gauge the accuracy of manufacturers' specs and information. You can't go wrong that way. If it doesn't lead you to ElectricRider's products, we'll be surprised.....but more important is that you find and purchase the right system for your needs. Commuting with light electric transportation is a blast.....unless you're trying to climb steep hills with an under-powered, over-rated system. The specs you'll read below are real-world specs, and some are even a little under-rated. We've always followed the philosophy "under-commit, over-deliver". Worst case, you'll be more satisfied than expected! Please note that range is extremely variable. The higher the wattage, the more variable range becomes based on how you ride, how much weight the Paratrooper is carrying, terrain, tires, etc. A lot of stop/go action, or applying full throttle 100% of the time may offer less range than what's published below. The range published below is an average based on riders of about 180lbs with no pedaling and the average terrain. Since our systems are installed on bicycles and other pedal-powered vehicles, many people confuse what's good for a pedal-powered vehicle with what's good for an LEV (light electric vehicle).....but they shouldn't. While weight is a major focus of the bicycle industry, it should not be a major consideration for e-bikes unless you must lift the bike on a regular basis. Otherwise, the Phoenix Paratrooper is closer to the motorcycle family than the bicycle family due to its powerful motor capable of traveling 45mph......so who cares about a few pounds? When you have to pedal a bike, of course weight is important.....but when it's motorized, weight adds stability. That being said, do you really want to ride 45mph on a vehicle you can lift with your pinky? We didn't think so. Less weight is good to an extent, but not when you limit its capabilities beyond reasonable use. So don't think of the 7240 Phoenix Paratrooper with SLA batteries as a heavy bicycle.....think of it as a 98lb motorcycle! If weight is a concern, the same 7240 Phoenix Paratrooper weighs 66lbs with lithium batteries. So 2880W weighing a total of 66lbs.....that's .32oz per Watt. You can also break the price down per watt. If you want to compare apples to apples, that's the most accurate way to do it. |

The Paratrooper
pictured below is an option for either of our 48v systems, best
for those who want a light-feeling ride but will make little use of the
folding feature. It does take
a little work to completely fold the frame with this configuration. It
may take 20-30 minutes, which is fine for going on trips or vacation,
but probably not for every day commuting. If you need folding
capabilities, we recommend choosing a configuration that does not
utilize the battery brackets. The configuration below puts battery weight in
a position almost unnoticeable to the rider. You'll have the feel of a
pedal bike while riding, but with enough power to burn rubber! |
|
7240 With SLA Batteries (Option B) - For lower center of
gravity |
|
This 7240 Phoenix Paratrooper
is a 45mph, road-ripping machine! While it holds 52lbs of batteries, the
battery brackets keep 66% of that weight low and tight to the frame. The
remaining weight is kept in the top of the cargo bag show in the picture
below, leaving the fold-out pannier bags empty for storage. It does take
a little work to completely fold the frame with this configuration. It
may take 20-30 minutes, which is fine for going on trips or vacation,
but probably not for every day commuting. If you need folding
capabilities, but still want the insane power of the 7240 Phoenix II, we
recommend the 72V 15AH lithium batteries. |
